Resources

Over time I have found some great resources to help me learn and grow personally. I’d be remiss if I didn’t share them here for you to enjoy. If you found anything that you think is useful and should be added to the list, please let me know!

Books

  • Fooled by Randomness: This book explores the role of chance and randomness in life and the illusion of cause-and-effect we often construct. Taleb argues that we overestimate our ability to predict outcomes and underappreciate the power of luck. A foundational text that reprograms your thinking. It exposed my blind spots in decision-making and randomness. Brilliant wake-up call for intellectual humility.
  • The Black Swan: Taleb introduces the concept of Black Swans - high-impact, unpredictable events that shape history, markets, and personal lives. He highlights our tendency to ignore the rare but transformative. Taleb turns contrarian thinking into an art form. Genius.
  • The Bed of Procrustes: A collection of aphorisms and philosophical reflections that challenge conventional wisdom, addressing themes of risk, uncertainty, and human nature. Bite-sized wisdom bombs. Every aphorism brings something to the table that you got to chew on for a while. This is Stoicism meets brutal honesty, with Taleb’s signature edge.
  • Antifragile: Taleb’s masterpiece on systems that thrive under stress and disorder. He explains how to build resilience and take advantage of volatility in life, markets, and beyond. A life philosophy, not just a book. This one resonates with my love for sustainability and iterative growth. Truly transformative and empowering.
  • Skin in the Game: Taleb explores the ethics of risk-taking and the importance of accountability. He critiques systems where decision-makers don’t face the consequences of their actions. This book resonates deeply with my values. It’s a manifesto for personal integrity and accountability—a rare and invaluable perspective. Absolutely loved it.
